In Dance on the Volcano, two diagonal streams of gold, copper, and magenta cut through a deep, layered blue – not a surface that has settled, but one still moving as you look at it. Where the two streams cross, the glow grows densest – the point where the most happens at once.
This original abstract painting was created with acrylic, Bologna chalk, acrylic gold, and copper, and is part of the "Between Worlds" series, made in Sabine Runge's studio near Munich.
