A Longing for the Sea.
When my words were no longer enough, I began to paint.
In 2019, during a personal crisis, painting became my language. Since then, the search for light has stayed with me. For me, it is existential.
At the beginning I take the lead on the canvas, but at some point my works begin to lead me. That moment when a painting finds its own way and something emerges that I hadn't planned – that is what I love most about painting.
The sea, its blue and the stillness at the horizon return in my works again and again. In them, I come a little closer to the light.
The artworks invite you to pause and give your own thoughts room. What you see and feel in them is left to each person.
My art gives voice to the part of me that was silent for so long.
