L'Ultime Lueur du Soir is inspired by an evening along the Côte d'Azur – the sky shifting from violet into near-total black, while one last, narrow streak of apricot-colored light still lingered above the horizon.
What stayed with Sabine Runge was not the exact view, but the feeling of being there: peaceful, still, and fully present. Months later came the attempt to hold onto that memory in this piece of abstract art – not perfectly, but felt. Deep violet fills most of the canvas, crossed only by one glowing streak of soft apricot tracing through the darkness at the horizon. The piece is part of the "Intimate Works" series, created in Sabine Runge's studio near Munich.
