Between Worlds – an original abstract painting by Sabine Runge

A moment right before something shifts – and the second after. A clear dividing line splits the canvas: above it, calm ice-blue, blue-grey, and silver run in dense vertical strokes. Just below the line, the painting's brightest point breaks through – an almost white, silvery streak scattered with sharp-edged black fragments, like the instant something shatters. From there, the surface darkens gradually into deep indigo.

The metallic acrylic paint responds to light: understated in daylight, more pronounced under side lighting as the silver tones catch the glow. This original was created in Sabine Runge's studio near Munich – every piece in the "Between Worlds" series is a one-of-a-kind work.

In a room, Between Worlds doesn't read as even background texture – it draws the eye to that one bright point of rupture, calm but with a clear center.
