Chasing the Sun – an original abstract painting by Sabine Runge

Some things can never quite be caught – you can only keep following them. In Chasing the Sun, a dense, almost relief-like block of deep violet and dark purple breaks through a soft base of rosé, apricot, and earthy ochre, like a shadow forever one step behind the sun.

The champagne chalk gives the surface a matte, organic texture that absorbs daylight rather than reflecting it – depending on the sun's position, the warm earth tones step forward or recede. This original abstract painting was created in Sabine Runge's studio near Munich.
