Calm. Held. Still. In Elysium, a wide expanse of grey and sand opens up, beneath which pink and gold rest deep within the texture – rough, dense, but never restless. The matte, mineral surface lets the gold emerge only gently, like a thought that doesn't insist on being heard.
This original abstract painting was created with acrylic, acrylic gold, and stone chalk, and is part of the "Echoes" series, made in Sabine Runge's studio near Munich.
