In Flames of Renewal, muted berry and orange drift like trails of smoke across an earthy, taupe surface – no open flame anymore, but what remains once the fire itself has long since passed. Gold doesn't sit at the center of the heat, but exactly where it begins to settle, as if the transition itself released something valuable.
This original abstract painting was created with acrylic, Rügen chalk, and acrylic gold, and is part of the "Between Worlds" series, made in Sabine Runge's studio near Munich.
