The Inspiration

You don't always choose to step into the unknown – sometimes life simply pushes you in, like into the deep blue, unfathomable and vast. That is exactly where I recognized myself: in the moment I no longer knew what would come next, and kept going anyway. The deeper I went into the unknown, the more of myself I found. From this thought came "Into the Blue" – a one-of-a-kind piece that exists only once in the world.

Material & Technique

The foundation is Rügen chalk, which gives the surface its fine, crystalline texture, applied layer by layer until it recalls the floor of a deep body of water. Over it lies a deep, almost unfathomable blue, an ocean-like palette. The metallic gold lies hidden within it, worked into the structure. The gold had been there all along – it only truly becomes visible once the light falls on it.

How It Lives in a Room

That is exactly what unfolds anew each day: the gold changes with the light in the room – sometimes barely perceptible, sometimes catching the eye in a sudden flash. That is what makes "Into the Blue" a quiet companion in everyday life – a reminder that what matters most is often already there, long before we see it.
