Some silence grows denser the longer you stay. In Shades of Silence, stillness itself gathers weight the closer you get to the ground – mist still lingering above, stone already settling below. Gold doesn't sit on the surface, but seems to come from within, exactly where silence turns into something solid.
This original abstract painting was created with acrylic, stone powder, and sand, and is part of the "Intimate Works" series, made in Sabine Runge's studio near Munich.
