Cypress – an original abstract painting by Sabine Runge

Cypress trees change barely at all on the surface, yet keep growing without pause – calm, but never standing still. Cypress carries that same quality: cool mint and blue grey form the base, dense and mineral, like bark weathered by years of wind.

Between them, 24-karat gold leaf breaks through, not as a flat surface but in individual veins running through the relief of Rügen and champagne chalk. Depending on the light, these gold lines shift visually, sometimes hidden, sometimes clearly visible. This original abstract painting was created in Sabine Runge's studio near Munich.
