Fondo del Mar – an original abstract painting by Sabine Runge

Some things rest at the deepest point of the sea and are still found. In Fondo del Mar, fine marble powder forms a delicate, net-like structure at the center of the canvas – like sea foam just before it dissolves back into water. Warm metallic gold breaks through the fine cracks, as if a small treasure had been uncovered.

The matte turquoise background absorbs the light, while the gold reveals every shift in lighting – sometimes a soft shimmer, sometimes a clear glow. This original abstract painting was created in Sabine Runge's studio near Munich.
