Large-Format Abstract Art by Sabine Runge

Large walls need works with presence. My large-format abstract originals range from 100 × 100 cm to 120 × 120 cm. Each painting is a unique piece in acrylic and mixed media on canvas, selected works with 24-karat gold leaf. Hand-painted near Munich, signed on the back, with wax seal and certificate of authenticity.

When size becomes presence

A large painting is experienced differently from a small one: from a distance, up close and in changing daylight. In open living areas, generous entrance halls or clearly designed rooms, it becomes the focal point. The larger the surface, the stronger the effect of layering, texture and light. Photos only hint at this, and it shows fully only in the room.

Which size suits your wall?

Sabine Runge, abstract artist near Munich, with one of her original paintings

Sabine Runge

My longing for the sea, the Mediterranean light, the movement of the waves and the sparkle of the sand have always stayed with me. In my work I translate these impressions into layers, mineral structures, light and shadow, and in selected works into metallic effects and real gold leaf. At first I lead on the canvas, at some point the work leads me.

My paintings speak of freedom, intuition and the courage to meet the unpredictable. Each is a unique piece whose effect changes with the light in the room.

More than 120 original works have been acquired by collectors in 16 countries.
