Abstract Wall Art for Modern Interiors – Originals by Sabine Runge

An original gives a room its focal point. My abstract wall art pieces are hand-painted unique works in acrylic and mixed media, selected works with 24-karat gold leaf. An original painting sets atmosphere, changes proportions and brings color into an interior. Layers, textures and color gradients look different in daylight and artificial light, calm or energetic, depending on the work.

Surface, texture, light and material shape the presence of an original. The perception changes with the time of day and the angle of view. Relief-like layers create a depth that photographs only partly show. In modern rooms this creates an interplay of architecture, light and art.

Sabine Runge

My longing for the sea, the Mediterranean light, the movement of the waves and the sparkle of the sand have always stayed with me. In my work I translate these impressions into layers, mineral structures, light and shadow, and in selected works into metallic effects and real gold leaf. At first I lead on the canvas, at some point the work leads me.

My paintings speak of freedom, intuition and the courage to meet the unpredictable. Each is a unique piece whose effect changes with the light in the room.

More than 120 original works have been acquired by collectors in 16 countries.
